My Resolutions for 2004 31 December 2003

Come this year of 2004, a common refrain you’ll hear is, “Ahhh… how fast time flies…”
Well, it’s the time of the year for wishes and resolutions, the time to improve ourselves and the world we live in. I resolve to:
- Concentrate to do well in my music course at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and I hope to improve my creativity & technical knowledge in performing arts.
- Continue to practise on my piano techniques, although I major in percussion at NAFA. Meanwhile, I may excel in both piano and percussion.
- Spend less in volunteer work of SADeaf YouthBeat, continue to lead XTOMIC with less efforts & sweat. Hopefully, someone can take over me for now. Although XTOMIC is only 1 year old, I have been performing as a SADeaf representative for almost 5 years.
- Continue to share knowledge in Deaf Culture & History and sign language with any hearing person who is willing to be part of the Deaf Community. Meanwhile, I hope to improve my sign language.
- Spend less money, earn & save more money.
- Save money to buy a Apple product, perhaps 12″ iBook G4 (latest!) or 12″ PowerBook G4.
- Save money for a holiday breakaway, perhaps, I may be touring independently. Hmmm, touring with friends can be more fun.
- Learn some skills to upgrade myself, so that I won’t be losing out in this highly-competitive country. Meanwhile, I hope to learn some things from my friends who may be more wise than me.
- Meet up with long-time friends, especially my deaf friends. Currently, I often go out with hearing friends and I really enjoy more being with them. And, I need to spend more time with my family.
- Sleep earlier, before midnight. Sleep is a beauty which can’t be deprived forever.
- Maintain a healthy diet with a good, regular exercise like swimming, badminton, brisk-walking, climbing stairs.
- Do housework once/twice every week; I help my mummy in washing clothes and mopping floor. At the same time, I need to learn to be professional in cooking.
- Read more on books of any topics which may be interest to me: arts, music, cooking, fictional/non-fictional stories, children’s stories, self-improvement, finance, IT-stuff, and deafness (of cultural, medical & international aspects).
- Continue to love everyone, including my enemies (if I have any).
- Lastly, I resolve to continue to be strong (not too much). And, I continue to stay cheerful and happy whatever it is.
