Have been following up on this Project SuperStar 2005 since then..
“It’s two weeks away from the Project SuperStar Grand Finals on September 1, 2005. But fans, you ain’t resting on your laurels until the BIG DAY. Get your pockets ready to move your idol’s singles off the shelves!
Before the champion is even crowned, the two finalists Tan Weilian and Kelly Poon who emerged winners from yesterday’s Results Show (Aug 18), will be releasing very first singles!”

If the winner would be emerged, who do you think it will be? To me, they are the WINNERS! They have their unique qualities which make them the STARS to everyone! I believe everyone are the STARS shining everywhere.. :)

I admire Mr. Tan Weilian for reaching at that final stage as I was rejected at the Singapore Idol 2004 Audition Round 2 only. Perhaps, my singing may not be as good as his. It cannot be helped because of my living handicap that I may not hear total, universal music.
Originally, I wished that I could be a SINGER one day. But somehow, this is already achieved. I know myself that I can sing well, that’s why I love to go for it if my friends suggest Karaoke. And, I do not care what people say about my singing.

My passion is music. It can be in any form: song-signing, singing, playing instrument, dancing, composing, etc, etc… Now, I aim to be an international performer like Evelyn Glennie who is herself a deaf percussionist.
Haha, I suppose, Mr. Tan Weilian is doing the similar way as Andrea Bocelli and Ray Charles did for themselves.
And, with regards to my friend’s blog, she said earlier on that Weilian is now paving a way for disabled performers. True enough, I’m now given an opportunity to perform with Weilian soon. And, I really hope this dream of mine can be achieved if there will be any possible collaboration between him and me.

“Opportunity knocks but once.”

“I have never laughed so hard at the Esplanade before!” – David Chew, Today
Think you can’t laugh any harder than you did at last year’s box office smash The Revenge of the Dim Sum Dollies? Well, our irrepressible threesome is back with a SURPRISING, ALL-NEW musical cabaret show that will prove once and for all that they are SINGAPORE’S MOST WANTED!
Watch Out! They’re leading a Velvet Cabaret Revolution!
Director Ivan Heng masterminds the Dollies to greater crimes of passion. Selena Tan, Pam Oei and Emma Yong conspire with Hossan Leong to bring you the Dim Sum Dollies as you’ve never seen them before! Catch them red-handed as they sing and dance themselves out of trouble! They’ll bust your gut with laughs you never knew existed! They’ll expose the guilty pleasures of being Singaporean.
Simply Wicked! Shiokadoo!

Last night, I went to Esplanade Theatre to watch this wonderful show, together with some of the XTOMIC. We got these free tix, thanks to Mr. Jerry of ‘A Nation In Concert’ in which we performed last Saturday.

Truly grateful to Audrey for interpreting throughout the whole show. And thanks to her, I was able to enjoy this show very much. From the show, there were several scenes in which three leading ladies, Selena, Emma and Pam and a cute guy, Hossan Leong had been changing costumes non-stop. Some scenes I liked the most are “Bollywood Hollywood”, “Fight between Lucy & Ziyi” and “IOC 2005″. These are very funny!

“Presented by the SPACES Community, the show charts a delightful journey of laughter, learning and love. This is a concert drama with a difference. Come and experience the magical and musical world of the colourful insect kingdom, and be moved by the touching songs, groovy dances and colourful drama set against the grandeur of the transformed Esplanade Concert Hall on 13 August 2005, Saturday; 3PM and 7.30PM.”

My group, XTOMIC and I got our second chances to perform at the Esplanade again. And, our first time was that we performed with the CCCrush in November 2004. Haha..
Yesterday, we had our great memorable time over there: practising, performing, doing thick, heavy make-up, wearing funny costumes, taking photos and playing around. We performed two items: ‘Backstreet Boys – Larger Than Life’ and ‘Moulin Rouge – One Day I’ll Fly Away’ in dance-signing for two shows. These performances were the most entertaining with our youth vitality and energy. And as for our second item, it had brought alot of emotions to the audience because it was done by three Deaf performers, Angeline, Huishan and me. Most of my friends liked this second item so much that they felt like crying.. They kept on saying that it was really meaningful and NICE! Beyond description!!

Well, we didn’t know how good we were on the stage when performing. And, I hear from the production team that the VCD will be out soon. That’ll be great!!

Guess that this XTOMIC has come its long way and I’m glad to have this recognition gained together by everyone in XTOMIC. :D We all will continue to keep this work up.. Perhaps, one day, we can hold our own musical concert at a small-scale. Heehee..

You’ll Be Always Remembered 10 August 2005

Last Thursday, I lost my father to the deadly sickness – his congential heart failure. He died so young – aged 64. The last time I saw him was that he asked me to help him settle his bills and deposit money into his ez-card at Jurong Point.
My whole family and I didn’t manage to catch his last breath. His death was too sudden and unexpected for us to take, especially for my mummy. She’s now alone, epecially when I’m often out, to earn some incomes. She has her high blood pressure. I worry about her the most. And I do not know what to do with her for now..

Looking at Papa’s photograph, this brought me alot of memories that I spent with him although we had our problems in communicating with one another (because of our language barrier). At home, I often played with him till the day he left us. He also played with me. These gestures were signs of love between us and these moments live in my heart forever. I miss him so much that I could break down anytime. But I often remind myself to be stronger.

Well, life has to go on. But still, I’m feeling the pain of having this loss. Hope time will heal this agony we’re having at this moment.

“Papa, you’ve never left us. You live in our hearts and you’ll be always remembered! And, rest in peace.. We love you!!

Now, I cannot write further anymore.. This pains me alot! *sobbing…*

My papa’s “seven-day” wake is just over today. He’s now being cremated at Mandai Crematorium and, this pains me alot to see him like that… *sobbing*

My family and I will collect his ashes from there and move him to his new home at Choa Chu Kang Columbarium on the next morning.

“Papa, rest in peace…”

Read the book on “The Dream is Everything”. So, I decided to write a list of dreams I have here…

(1) To obtain a doctorate degree in music education/therapy.
(2) To own a Powerbook, M-Audio keyboard and iPod with its digital voice-recorder.
(3) To own a music studio with instruments in my home.
(4) To own a pair of Music-Pro digital hearing aids.
(5) To do a corporate business in sign language and performing.
(6) To perform & travel all over the world for 1 year.
(7) To teach music to organisations with special needs.
(8) To hold my own concerts in famous performing centres like the Esplanade and the Sydney Opera House.
(9) To take my parents mummy to Asia (like China, Japan, Korea) for holidays.
(10) To live in a 3-room condominium with convenient facilities.
(11) To obtain a driving licence in Class 3.
(12) To own a few cars like Jeep Wrangler and Pontiac Solstice.
(13) To slim down and have a flat, toned tummy.
(14) To buy a car for my father. To buy a massaging chair for my mummy.
(15) To marry a man who can give me a good life, based on strong communication, trust and romance/love. A knowledge in sign language is a MUST for a hearing guy!
(16) To obtain an ABRSM Grade 8 for my Percussion and Theory.
(17) To own an Adams marimba (MAHV46).
(18) To read more books on self-improvement like Financial Management and Public Speaking.

Too many to list here although it sounds quite ridiculous.. :P
Well, I only know that everyone wanna enjoy their lives what they desire for. But life is always like that. It cannot be helped.
I think there’s nothing wrong to say here when you have dreams inside.. Just for fun! I guess listing your dreams will help make your thinking being more positive and motivated. So, there is a quote saying…
“Your dream is what you were made for.”

Barry Manilow – One Voice 1 August 2005

Just one voice,
Singing in the darkness,
All it takes is one voice,
Singing so they hear what’s on your mind,
And when you look around you’ll find,
There’s more than one voice.

Singing in the darkness,
Joining with your one voice,
Each and every note or another octave,
Hands are joined and fears unlocked.

If only one voice would start it on its own,
We need just one voice,
Facing the unknown,
And that one voice would never be alone,
It takes that one voice.

Ba ba ba da da da da,
Ba ba ba ba ba ba da da da,
Ba ba ba ba ba ba,
It takes that one voice.

Just one voice,
Singing in the darkness,
All it takes is one voice,
Shout it out and let it ring.

Just one voice,
It takes that one voice,
And everyone will sing!
